• We’ve got an older (and probably out of date) instance of Events Calendar Pro running on one domain (let’s call it sitenamehpg.org), with a valid Events Calendar Pro license.

Due to that site being hacked (cleaned up, but still not 100% operational), running an older version of WordPress, plus a renaming of the organization over to sitenamese.org), we want to export the data from the old site and import it into the new site (we will be purchasing an updated license, since the original developer is now MIA).

Is there a way to export the existing Events Calendar (free/pro) data so that I can import it into the new site?

    Thanks!

  • Addendum, if possible, I’d like to upgrade the existing license and get the domain changed over to the new site. After the content from the original site is moved over to the new site, the original site will be shut down and the domain rediercted over to the new one.

I can provide the actual domain URL on request… we just don’t know who the original license was issued to (whether it was the original developer or the new one). The new license, however, will be set up under the customer’s name, but using our email address (hosting provider).

Just let me know what needs to happen next, please. 🙂

    Hi,

Thanks for using the Events Calendar.

Here on the WordPress.org forum, I’m afraid we do not provide technical support for our premium plugins. I would ask that you take any technical support questions across to our premium forum where we will respond to you within 24 hours during the week:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/

If you not sure what your account is please use the contact form on the contact page of our site to email us and we can help out.

    Thanks again!

The issue is that I’m a third party vendor (web host provider and new developer), so I won’t have any direct credentials for premium support. If I use the contact form, all I’ll be able to do is pretty much link to this support request.

    Hello and welcome back.

As Brian stated, providing this type of support is unfortunately out of our hands. You may want to try a basic export found under Tools > Export in your WP dashboard. You can then import the .xml files you exported into your new site by visiting Tools > Import in your new WP site.

In regards to the recommendation Brian made about reaching out via our contact form; we may be able to track down the license information for you based on names and/or email addresses used during the initial PRO license purchase.

I hope this information helps and thank you for choosing The Events Calendar. Have a great week!

I just wanted to do a quick follow up on this to let people know that the WordPress Export feature worked PERFECTLY on this… you’ll need to do THREE separate exports (save the exports with different file names):

    First: Events
    Second: Venues
    Third: Organizers

Import these in AFTER you’ve installed the Events Calendar (free and pro) plugins.

I also wanted to thank the Events Pro people for having a fantastic program that is supportive of legitimate Non Profit organizations. Because of their generosity with the license, the money that was set aside towards purchasing a license will be able to go back into the community to help guide parents with Early Childhood Education.

Thank you, Events Calendar and Modern Tribe, for everything!
