• Hi everybody!

I am using this plugin and I love it. But I had the map all filled out with A LOT OF markers at our demo site. Now the site is all ready and I need to transfer the map to it’s permanent location but it’s not working.

I have used the wordpress import option which wordpress provides itself. It does have the option to export ‘Google Maps’ and import them as well. But it only imports the map name, without any markers.

I have also tried copying the entire plugin via ftp from the demo place to the new place but still no markers.

I would really love to hear where the location is of the markers and how to transfer them to the new location. Maybe the information is saved somewhere else on ftp? Or am I doing something else wrong?

I have today to transfer the site cause we need to be only as fast as possible, we are a wildlife hospital. So please someone help us out fast cause it would take hours to remake all the markers again.

    Thank you in advance!

Hey @bdam6 – the import/export option through WordPress should work, although we can’t guarantee it will. We’re working on building our OWN import/export feature just for the plugin in upcoming development but it’s not ready yet. Have you tried copying the db from the demo to live site? Or is the demo a lot different than the live site?

Heey Devin Walker! I’ve tried the import/export option several times but no such luck. I am not sure what you mean by ‘db’. Could you explain?

If it’s not possible I am just going to redo the markers. I just really like the plugin! But I do think it would be a great feature to add the import/export option!

The demo site is the same as the live site. I had to keep up the old site on it’s location so I worked on the new layout on a sub domain. That theme has now been transferred to it’s permanent location!

Love to hear from you what db means.

By db I mean “database” sorry about the confusion there. Essentially you can “swap” the demo and live site db’s and the markers would be brought over. This method may be a bit too risky. You never want to lose ANY data. Perhaps manually is the best way for your right now. Sorry to hear the import/export feature isn’t working properly for you. WP All Import Pro may be a good option to try out also.
