I am recreating some pages using a new page builder, and I am unable to connect the existing translations to the new page. I use the search tool within the backend, and only one page comes up, I put in the exact name of the existing translations and it does not select it correctly.

Solved this after some digging, so I will put my findings here in case anyone else is as stumped as I was.

To be able to relink existing translations to new pages you need to be sure of the following:
    • Be sure your new page is set as the correct language (The search function only searches for pages WITHIN the language you are translating to, makes sense as I type it, but wasn’t clear in the back end)
    • The existing page needs to be unlinked from previous translations before it can link to the new page. If the page is connected to another page it WILL NOT come up in the search field for other pages. It felt like it should do this automatically, but I can see why that isn’t the case.

To unlink the old pages, you just have to go into the main page, delete the text and hit publish. Then you can find your new page and connect what needs to be connected.
