excluding one category from free shipping problem

    Hi
    I know how to exclude a category from free shipping coupons. My problem is when the products in that category are in the final order, for example free shipping is set to be for orders over 50$ and the XX category excluded from the free shipping coupon.
    I want when the customer chooses the AA product in XX category with 10$ price, and his final order is over 60$ then the free shipping applied for him but with coupons when AA product is in the cart the free shipping coupon won’t apply at all!
    How can I fix this?
