Excluding Cache and SuperCache files from email notifications

I like to get email notifications of file changes, but because of caching with the regular WP cache and my WP SuperCache plugin, my email notification of “changed files” is a huge list to wade through everyday.

I tried adding *cache* to the exclude list today, and it crashed my site. Luckily, I was able to restore from a backup.

Any suggestions to keep the email notifications from letting me know about changes in cache files?
