Exclude subcategories from archive pages

I would like my category pages to only show the posts in the selected category (excluding the child categories).

I’m not a code-friendly guy: found a solution to this here, but it’s for themes that have the standard files like category.php or archives.php, which is not the case for Customizr.

Any suggestion appreciated.
