I have text which has been divided into lines at the start of my posts using line feed. The resulting text in the grid ignores the line feeds, not even inserting them as spaces, so the text is all run together. Is there a way to change this?

It seems the standard WordPress excerpt function does this which I think is a shame as it then corrupts posts where the initial content is a list of features.

I think your plugin would be even better if it did not use the WordPress excerpt function but instead extracted the first x words or characters including items like lists <li> or breaks <br>.

    Hi @bobjgarrett

We released a new version (7.9.7) of the plugin today that includes the feature you requested.

Please update the plugin to the latest version. After updating, you will find a new option under the Excerpt settings called “Keep HTML Tags” (https://prnt.sc/djyVcnU_74jU). This option is available for all variants: Shortcode, Elementor, Gutenberg, and Divi.

If you want to preserve HTML tags in the excerpt, simply enable the “Keep HTML Tags” option.

Alternatively, you can leave the “Excerpt Limit” field empty. In that case, the plugin will use the excerpt exactly as entered in the excerpt field, including any HTML tags. (Only applicable for Excerpt)

We hope this resolves the issue. If you’re happy with the solution and the support you received, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave us a good rating on WordPress.org. Your feedback helps us a lot and motivates us to continue improving the plugin.

    Thank you!
