"Excerpt Length" ignored since last update

Yup, stuck at 55 words no matter what I set it to.

Updated. I have noticed, now, that 55 seems to be the maximum excerpt length. Less than 55 works, but more than does not. If I set the excerpt length to 3 it works, but if I set it to 95, it is capped at 55.

There doesn’t seem to be any setting in my theme for it, and it displayed the correct number prior to the update. I thought WP simply has a default excerpt length, but it doesn’t actually restrict it.

I presume the method for getting the excerpt recently changed?

Also note: It would not be desirable to change the default excerpt length, because I still wish my archive excerpts to be the default 55 word length.

Satrya: As mentioned, it would not be desirable to have to change the theme excerpt length, because excerpts still need to be 55 words everywhere else. Seeing as this is a widget, it does not make sense to me that the excerpt length should be capped at the default excerpt length. Besides, the default excerpt length is meant to be a /default/ excerpt length, not a /maximum/ excerpt length. I would definitely call this an issue.

Any chance you could revert to the old behavior of showing excerpts that are the length you specify specifically for the widget? My home page currently looks rather odd because of the lack of words that came as a result of the update, and I’m hoping to be able to fix it soon.
