Excerpt feature not working (Easy Testimonials)

    Hi Richard

    I’m running the Cazuela theme (thematosoup) on my site, and I cannot get the excerpt function to work, even though I have ticked this feature in the drop-down menu in the widget box. Is there any way to sort this out? I want excerpts to be displayed on the front page sidebar, instead of of the full-length testimonial.

    Also, is there a way to increase the font size on the writing that appears in the sidebar, or is this a limitation of the them that I am using?

    I am running WP 4.8.2.

    Hey @flowerscat!

    First things first, you may want to try clearing your cache just to be sure you aren’t showing cached testimonials. With that done, I would next ask are you using auto-generated excerpts or manually crafted excerpts?

    I ask because I have another report we are looking into of an issue with manually crafted excerpts not working but auto-generated working just fine.

    When I visit your site, I see two testimonials in the sidebar – one does appear to have a working excerpt:

    Zara was patient and thorough and took the time to explain the topics to me quiet clearly. It also helped to practice many past exam questions for Biology and Chemistry. Continue Reading

    So maybe it was caching, or maybe its manually crafted excerpts that aren’t working?

    With regard to the font size, you could change it with Custom CSS using the following line to target the theme you’ve chosen:

    .style-light_style blockquote.easy_testimonial p {
    font-size: 16px;
}

    Thank you Richard! Both solutions worked perfectly. I thought I had emptied the cache already, but obviously not. I was using manually crafted excerpts initially, but I removed these (before I sent this support email), because I thought that might be part of the problem. All the excerpts are now automatically generated.
