• Also, the developer was very efficient and focused in correcting the problems that arose for some of us following one of the updates.

    Hi again,

I updated to your most recent version yesterday and, whether coincidentally or not, likes made on Facebook itself are no longer registering. For one of my recent posts I was notified on FB of a number of additional likes, but none of them show in the totals on the page itself.

    Any idea why?

    Hi John,

If people “like” something on your blog they like that blog url, not your facebook page. Please also check http://www.ultimatelysocial.com/faq.

    Is that what you meant?

No, not exactly. Up to this point, if I have posted or cross-posted a blog post on Facebook, and someone has liked the post from Facebook itself, rather than on the blog, the like has been noted on the totals at the bottom of the blog post. That is no longer the case.

Could you please give me links to examples (on facebook and on your blog)?

We are not dealing with large numbers here, but …
The blog post I spotted this on is: http://osburnt.com/antigona/
Note that it indicates 3 Facebook likes, which had been there previously.
Today I posted the link in a Facebook group that I thought would be interested in the subject matter, as follows, and there have been a small number of additional likes (4), none of which have registered: https://www.facebook.com/groups/511155085691648/?fref=ts
In the past, such likes have appeared in the total.

I cannot see it because it’s a closed facebook group. I requested permission.

    Ok.

It’s a standard Facebook post. 4 likes and 12 views are indicated. The likes don’t register on Ultimate Social Media.

Interestingly, the views don’t show up on my Google Analytics stats either (although I would think you’d have to click to link to “view” it).

If you friend me, I’m not sure, but perhaps I can approve your joining the group. https://www.facebook.com/john.osburn.942

Well, I had a big jump in likes show up on the site tonight, so perhaps whatever was blocking them from registering went away. In any case, no way of knowing if the particular problem I spotted is accounted for or not. If it happens again, I’ll let you know. Thanks for your time.
