EWWW stopped auto conversion to webp

I have upgarded my PHP to 8.3, and recently downgraded back to 8.1. Since the upgrade, webp conversion was not activated, so I had to use ‘bulk conversion’ in admin’s media section. Once converted WebP images are shown despite known incompatibilities with Cloudflare. I have turned on both JS WebP and Image WebP options, which works fine.

In sum, once images are converted to WebP, it works. But it doesn’t seem that images are automatically converted after I’ve ‘reset’ted PHP.

There might have been settings that are affected by PHP extensions and/or configurations.

FYI, I did install php’s imagick extension for both 8.3 and back to 8.1 (otherwise the bulk conversion might have not worked)
