Here is my site on 3.4.4

And here is a screen capture of the front page immediately after updating to 3.5.0

BIG DIFF!
In addition to appearance, there are also some issues with repsonsivness, in that the header distorts and the main menu does some weird stuff.
Hi there,
Thanks for writing in!
It seems that some custom codes are conflicting with the new version. Removing and altering some custom codes will resolve the staggering layout to normal. However, at the current time your site is running on previous version so we can’t provide you with assistance unless you upgrade to the latest.
Thank you!
Okay, I have updated the theme, if you can have a looksee, I would certainly appreciate it. It’s mainly the shadow or embossing effect on the fonts in the main menu that are the problem
I am using a bit of Custom CSS as follows:
.content-box a:hover { color: #FF0000; }
span.thumbnail-post img{width:auto !important; height:auto !important}
@media screen and (max-width:768px){
.header{
height:300px !important;
}
}
Here’s the site again: http://haywoodedc.org/
And, here’s a screenshot of how it should look:

Hi there,
Thanks for the brief clarification!
Its just that theme has added more customization options. In order to remove the background gradient affect form your menu items, please go to Appearance > Theme Options > Menu and disable the menu background gradient, shadow and borders.
Regarding menu items text shadow effect; please go to Appearance > Theme Options > Styling > Shadows and disable the shadows affects.
Hope this helps.
Thank you!
Thanks, I had already worked with some of that, but the customize menu isn’t laid out like you indicate. Unfortunately, disabling the shadow effects makes the menu more readable, but doesn’t return me to the look and feel as before. If you look at site with the previous version, you will see gradients and shadows that look great. I understand giving more options with an update, but I don’t understand so drastically changing the ability to retain original look of the site. Even the fonts have a different look to them!
Here’s the previous version again (3.4.4):

And here’s the best I can do with the latest version (3.5.0)

Hi There,
Thanks for your brief clarification!
Upon checking into your website, it seems that it just requires one background gradient for navigation menu and the rest is looking fine. In regard to get the exact gradient value as like you had in previous version, they only way would be to go back to the previous version and grab the navigation menu’s background gradient value and deploy on the latest version by re-updating again. Though, if you’re willing to do such then we’d copy the older version’s gradient value and inform you to re-update to the latest again in order to apply the new background gradient. Meanwhile, its recommended to leave the “Disable menu background gradient” box to be unchecked.
Thank you!
