hi there! if you test your page (there are many online tools), you’ll see that home page is 1.3 MB and loads in 4-5sec. That’s normal.
if you want to be a little faster compress your home page photos.
Hi, first of all, thanks for your response. I am glad to read that the website does load normal. I will compress my pics today and hope it helps. Maybe you both can try again at the end of this day and see if it helps? When I logon to my WP-admin it takes about 5-6 seconds before I can login. Thats when I start worrying about the speed. @romik, is that normal? When I try a pagetest I get the result that the slider above the vow is slowing my website down. What is your opinion?

Use a cache plugin, if you know how to configure properly, it will speed up your website loading speed at least by 50%.
Even better if you have a server cache.
For your slider, use compressed images, it will speed up loading.
It will definitely be faster if you don’t use any slider.
All slider uses images, the more image you have the slower the page load speed.
Same as Google Fonts, the more you use, the slower your page load speed.
You decide how fast you want your site to load.

I see your site is loading fast except the server is responding slow.
That said, what other posters have mentioned will not fix your problem.
Are you using VPS or shared hosting? I would recommend calling your tech support. I would ask them to look CPU usage and the server fundamentals. If they can not resolve your problem, I would recommend you switch to a different hosting provider.
Thank you all for your reply. I think that the main problem is my provider because he uses Shared Hosting. Somebody explained it to me and I am moving my website to a VPS provider. On the other hand there is a file missing (pattern8) in mijn website design and WP is looking for this file. Thats another reason. I don’t know how to fix this but I will try to find it. Thank you all for your help!
