Events With Restricted Access Showing Up
-
I have set various event categories for my events calendar, for example: Public and Customer. Within ‘Edit Event Category’ for the customer I have selected to restrict access using the groups I have set up with the ‘Page Security & Membership‘ plugin. In this case access is restricted for anyone who is not in the customer group. When I set-up a new event, that I only want my customers to see, I select the ‘Customer’ category. Until today this prevented said event from appearing on the main event calendar unless the customer was logged in. Anyone viewing my site was only able to see the events which were not marked as part of the ‘Customer’ category. However, now when I visit my events page (not logged in) I can see every single event regardless of the restriction. When I click on a customer event I luckily get a message that I do not have access to view the page so the event is not totally public. Upon going back to the calendar after the denied access page all of the events which have been set under the ‘Customer’ category are now gone as they should have been from the start.
Why are these events showing up in the first place? And why do they disappear after trying to access one? Shouldn’t the permissions be read as soon as the person visits the page and not only after they have actually taken action and clicked on something?
The calendar is here: https://www.chessys.com/events/
One example of an event that should not be visible to you is: January 11, 2016 – SmartAnalysis User In-House Training in BaltimoreI’m using the latest version of WordPress and the Events Calendar plugin.
Thanks,
