I downloaded The Events Calendar to use with my theme, Headway.

I had a few pages created, including a page named Events before I installed the plugin.

After I installed the plugin, I added an event, and tested, seeing it tried to load test.mynewhealingsite.com/events/, but the page did not load properly. It looks like the home page, and still does, even after I disabled the plugin.

My other pages, Products,Testimonials and Contact load fine. I cleared the cache with WP Super Cache as well.

Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it?

  • I have similar trouble with this plugin, I found an issue trying different themes, for example it works well with Twenty fourteen. On my website I have wpzoom academica V 2.0.3, I can see my calendar but single event wont display at all.
It would be great if someone know how to fix it.

I do not believe they have released a WP 4.0 compatible version of the plugin yet

    Hi folks,

As ChrisGoodwinNH mentioned, it’s possible that this is an issue with Headway in particular. As outlined in our forum guidelines, we unfortunately just can’t help with conflicts like this here on the free support forum. Here are some resources that might be helpful for you:

    Themer’s Guide
    Tutorials
    Technical Docs

You also might want to get in touch with the theme developer and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

    Good luck!

I’m having the same problem. When I go to /event/ it does not work but /event/test-event/ does work, albeit with out that nice menu bar across the top. I don’t know if it’s my theme or a lack of compatibility with 4.0. I can’t switch because my site is live.

I’ve had similar issues. Some files of an old plugin I was using (“WP Events Calendar”) were still existent on the server. After removing those and all its obsolete database entries, everything started working correctly.

I was not using that plugin. Thanks for the advice tho.

I work for Headway Themes in support and I can confirm that having a prior event calendar plugin installed that uses the post type event does definitely conflict with this plugin when using Headway (can’t speak for any other theme).

I would imagine a page called events would as well.

With a fresh install of WP and HW, the plugin and Headway work together.

Thats great but I did not have either of those two things.

@timblankers – I’m glad you got things working again!

@codente – thanks for chiming in here!

@larry91403 – I recommend that you try looking for a conflict elsewhere. If you need help, please read this guide to testing for conflicts.

If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further in a new thread. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

    Best,
    Leah

Thanks Leah, I’m happy to pay for this plugin as long as I can get it working – initially. How do I access documentation and faq’s?

I understand the hard work that goes into making software and we would likely want to use some of the pro features.

    Regards,

I also intalled this plugin but now i’m going to uninstall it, same reason, doesn’t work.

A bit of an update, for reasons beyond my understanding, I was able to get the calendar to display by simply changing the default slug (i called it events-calendar). So there must be a conflict somewhere although I don’t don’t know why.
