At some point, after updating the plugin to the latest version, the event submission functionality stopped working (it was working fine before).

After filling in all required fields, the “preview” button does nothing.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

  • Hi @jeffcoi,
It looks like there is something in conflict with any other plugin or the theme. Can you please create a support ticket here https://support.wp-eventmanager.com/portal/home

    Thank you

    Thank you! Ticket submitted.

    Hi @jeffcoi,

On your submission page, it looks like your event title field is hidden. Without event title, it may not allow you to create an event.

    Thank you

I was able to find the reason why the “event title” field was missing (set to display:none). In the old version of the events plugin (before the major update version) we had to turn the user login area off via css because the client didn’t want users to try to create accounts to submit events. I have fixed that issue, and now the preview button works. However, when it loads the preview page, there are a lot of fatal php errors.

I did just test clicking on the “submit event” button, and it does now submit the event, even though there are all of the fatal errors on the preview page. So, we are making some progress!

I just saw that there is a method to completely eliminate the “preview” part of the process by adding some code into the theme function file. If I add this in, will the submitted event immediately be posted to “live” or does it still go into the system and need to be approved by an admin before going live?

    Hi @jeffcoi,

If there is any fetal error it may be causing the process of the event. If you are skipping the preview process event will be goes to moderation mode. It’s up to you if you have set up moderation disabled then it will make it live otherwise it will follow the same process as preview event follows.

    Thank you

Thank you! I went with that method, and all appears to be working correctly.

Thanks again for the assistance in resolving this issue.
