Currently, the image for the event is limited in size – the images inside the Event’s feed are shown in full size.
We have an update scheduled soon, and it should be easy to add this to it’s list. Stay tuned!

Just to clarify, are you referring to the images that appear inside the events feed, or the image that appears as the banner at the top of the event on Facebook?
It looks like this may have fallen to the wayside, but we can pick it back up!

The thumbnail that appears in the FB event feed now is 50px square:

The normal styling options don’t affect the event images.

In the most recent version, we have options that allow you to choose the size of images that are loaded with events. Limited by what is allowed via the Graph API, you can now choose to load small, normal, large, or square images from FB.
