Escaping characters on Date Format

Hello, I’ve got a quick question.

I like how the plugin has a field for formatting date for each template, but I can’t seem to escape letters to use there. Its common in my language to put the date on documents as “day of month of year”, using “j \d\e F \d\e Y” but whenever I try this the \ gets removed.

Am I doing something wrong or its not supposed to use letters like that?
