Hello. I recently tested this plugin with creating a post using content copied from a pdf document and it was messy. There are some PDF documents where I copy huge chunks of data into the classic editor (instead of doing all the work of typing afresh), and then edit them, by rewriting them, and inserting paragraphs which work smoothly. I tried the same with this plugin, but the paragraph blocks messed this all up. I later switched to the classic editor and in the text tab, I saw lots of spacing between each paragraph and lots of &npsb; codes that I had to remove manually one by one from the post.

    Hi,

How does the pastes differ for you when you do this, and do you have an example file, it may be the format of your PDF differs from the one I just tested with, but both the classic editor and Gutenberg appear to be treating the content the same for me.

Hi. Try this pdf https://cob.go.ke/?wpdmdl=10738 (locate the summary section and copy like three to five paragraphs and paste them in Gutenberg. Then try to assign paragraphs like after three to five sentences). Or could the issue be the paragraphs for the pdf not replicating in Gutenberg editor?

Thank you for that, so I did a copy and paste, the content came did get pasted as it should, then I proceeded to start inserting paragraphs by going to where one paragraph ends and hitting enter. I do see there’s some rather frustrating screen movements when I do this, and extra line breaks added to the beginning of the new paragraph.

I’ve created a ticket for those issues I noticed in this scenario, did I miss anything?

Thanks. That is (or those are) the issues. The screen movement (it kept moving me to the end of the editor every time and I had to scroll up again every time to where I inserted the paragraph) and the inserted line breaks. Maybe the other issue (but I guess that was just me) was trying to create a list block and then copying a sentence from that huge paragraph and trying to paste it in the list, the sentence would not paste inside the list, but in the next line below the list and I would have to press backspace so that the sentence appears in the circle for the list.. But I will bookmark the ticket and follow up on it. It is the only issue (plus an issue raised about Grammarly in another ticket) that is making me not adopt Gutenberg plugin, but I guess the Grammarly thing is not as important as this one.

Still having this problem. Checked ticket which seems merged with another but still open. I will adopt Gutenberg fully when this is resolved.

The latest beta version of WordPress solves this issue! Thanks, team! Now I am enthusiastic about WordPress 5.0.

Hi Marius L. J. Which software did you use to capture the webpage to show the error as it appears on GitHub?

I use a recording tool called LICEcap for simple stuff like that.
