    Hi
I recently migrated my wordpress database onto a new shared hosting package. When the migration was complete, my existing Yoast SEO (free) plugin seemed to want to be configured again from scratch. However when I try to ‘start SEO optimisation’, I get the following error:

    Error message
Error parsing the response to JSON.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Hazel

    Hello @hazelmckinlay1980,

Thanks for reaching out. Indeed, running the SEO data optimization is a great next step. Please try the following:

    1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to Admin > Yoast SEO > Tools
    5. Click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.
    6. If the process fails again, while you’re on the SEO data optimization screen, please check if there are JavaScript errors in your browser’s console. You may follow the steps here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/
