Hi, for a few days I have been having a problem with next gen gallery the free version, with my home connection.
If I scroll through my image galleries, for example trekking, I open the images, I start scrolling through the album pages and after a while it tells me “Error 403” no images was found.
I called the host and we saw that, for example, with the mobile phone connection it works and there are no 403 errors, it does so only with the home connection, the same computer I use to update my site. The permissions are all correct, I tried to regenerate the same htaccess, I tried with the nextgen gallery settings by putting the uri correctly, the same, I tried to reset the base values of the next gen, the same, I tried to uninstall and reinstall nex gen, always the same.
What is it due to? I also called TIM, I have fiber but no one knows what to do.
After 5 minutes it goes into error 403 then starts again but as soon as I start to scroll through the galleries after a while it does it again, it seems that it cannot find the images.
Has anyone had the same problem? I don’t know if it’s due to the last update, because I haven’t updated my site for a few months.

    Hi @fractalcosmo,

Could you please let us know more details regarding your environment like the device that you use, the browser, OS and the internet connection’s stability ( for the last, please use a service allowing to see the ping results )?

Also, I am wondering if you are using Wi-Fi or the Mobile Data for your mobile device? If you are using Mobile Data that may mean your wired connection isn’t stable enough to consistently load the images on desktop.

Just as a heads-up, we’ve navigated quite a while and tried to open images in lightbox mode from different galleries and different pages but we never could replicate the issue on our desktops for your site.

Hello thanks for the answer, I use the home connection in FFTH fiber, the ping is 3ms calculated now on ookla, I use chrome as a browser and I use the ethernet cable in my desktop computer that I use to also enter wordpress and modify my site. If I try to use the mobile phone connection, it works, it doesn’t go into error, it only goes into error with the home fiber ffth connection. The permissions are correct at 755, I called my service host and noticed that my connection is the problem and he advised me to call the phone line provider and try to change IP. Today, however, I always realized by doing the ookla speed test that my connection is actually a little unstable, I have to travel at 800 mbps, the fiber is 1 giga, but in ookla I realized that it also drops below 100mbps, in fact seems to be unstable, could this be the problem? It seems that sometimes it is difficult to load the gallery and then goes into error 403 because it does not load the images and does not associate the IDs. Could this be the problem? That is, my connection that sometimes loses power? I called my network provider and they will call me back.

You may want to reach to your provider for more details on what is happening but an unstable internet connection can definitely cause the requests to fail.

Hi, i have checked better the problem, my connection is working even if sometimes the speed is lowered but still remains on 100mbps, so the connection is there, it is stable.
I believe instead that the problem is due to cloudflare because sometimes it tells me error 503 cloudflare, from my host cloudflare is set to SSL / Encrypt communication = full and security level = medium and subdomain management disabled. If I remove cloudflare obviously the page does not load.
    How can I do?

No, I don’t think it’s my home connection, now I’ve been trying for 20 minutes and my connection is stable at 800 mbps but some pages of the trek don’t load the thumbnails and when it does then it goes into error 403 as soon as I reload the page with f5.
Maybe I don’t have to put many nggalleries on the same page? Could this be too?
With the basic paid version, maybe I can manage the galleries differently and therefore manage to load them better? I wanted to buy the basic version for some time.
The problem is that it does not load the thumbnails despite the connection is 800 mbps, however it is not the first time that it has not uploaded the thumbnails to me but it never gave me a 403 error, the thumbnail could not be loaded but it did not go into error.
Did I put too many galleries on one page? could this be it? too many galleries and fails to load?

Hi, maybe i resolved the problem, yes the problem was cloudflare i gone in the cpanel of cloudflare and purge all cache and now also if sometimes doesn’t load some thumbs but if i reload the page it doesn’t go in error 403 and reupload the images correctly, it was that.
BTW i think that maybe it’s time to buy a paid version for one site ;).
Thanks for the answer and good work
    Bye
    Andrea
