error – vimeography/lib/helpers.php on line 9

I am getting this sudden error on my site..
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/wwwmysite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/vimeography/lib/helpers.php on line 9

I tried upgrading wordpress and disabling all plugins but I still get this or similar errors. Can anyone shed any light on what this means.
On admin ‘edit gallery’ page I get.
WordPress 3.9.1 is available! Please update now.

I am using aloha theme, if I resave the gallery the error disappears for a short time ( looks like it is fixed) then it re-appears again later.
Any pointers much appreciated.
