    Hello  good day I have a problem importing an XLSX file. 

    When importing I get the following message: Error: Import failed. Error code: db_update_error (Could not update publication in database). [I got a packet larger than max_allowed_packet bytes];table_save_post_update;table_import_table_save_or_add [1]

    Do I have to do any configuration?

    Pd: my English is very bad, now I’m using Google Translate

    Just to be sure: Is that the exact error message that you are seeing or was this also translated by Google Translate?

    I’m asking because neither TablePress nor WordPress contain the text “Could not update publication in database” anywhere in their code. Therefore, I assume that maybe some other plugin plays a role here. Can you therefore please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-Three? That way, we can find what’s causing this.

    I was reviewing WordPress and plugins.

    When reviewing the XLSX file I realized that there were two pages, when I deleted one page and left the page that I am going to occupy, the import worked correctly.
