Just a quick update… I figured out how to get the MailChimp widget displayed. That was because I did not use the Appearance/Widgets page to drag the Widget from the Available list to a location.
So, that just leaves the “Interest Groups” dilema.
Hey TheBranchSB,
Thanks for writing in! Ah, that message will actually appear by default in the absence of any Interest Groups being found.
If you’re seeing that message and you do NOT have any interest groups in the MailChimp list that’s selected, feel free to ignore it.
If you’re seeing that message and you DO have interest groups setup in your MailChimp list, then your best bet would be to click the “update list” button at the top of the plugin’s settings page.
If you have anymore questions, let us know!

I’m having the same problem, and I do have interest groups set up in MailChimp. I’ve clicked all the update buttons, but it still isn’t showing. (It does show if I just use Mail Chimps form embed code instead of the widget but I prefer the look of the widget) (see http://frankonlinemarketing.com Your widget is at the top right, the embed is near the bottom right)
Hey temafrank,
Thanks for posting! That definitely is a bit odd. I went ahead and pulled up the MailChimp account and tried out the API key in a test WordPress environment, and was seeing that the interest group options appeared as expected. So these groups should show up when using the plugin.
It sounds like you’ve already clicked the “update list” button, but that the groups were still not showing up. Can you confirm if you’ve tried logging out of the account in question (from the plugin’s settings), then logging back in, and see if those groups still do not appear?
We look forward to hearing back!
