Error processing checkout. Please try again.

Hi,
by activating PayPal Plus I receive the Error Message “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” when continuing to checkout. ‘Normal’ PayPal works fine. I’ve called to PayPal today and they told me that the account is enabled for PayPal Plus. I copied the Client and Secret ID carefully. The log file shows only dates and times no further information, such as:
07-11-2016 @ 18:59:10 –
07-11-2016 @ 18:59:22 –
…What could be the reason, what can I do to find out and solve the problem…
Thanks
Thilo

Looks like you’re not getting any response back from PayPal at all. Are you working with the sandbox or live?
I entered both ID for Sandbox and Live and ticked the ‘Use Sandbox’ box. Triggered by your question I deleted the Sandbox ID and un-ticked the ‘Use Sandbox’ box. Now it seems to work … I made two live transfers of 0,01 EUR and it worked…
Why … I don’t know?
But thanks!
Now I have a PayPal question: It is shown pay by PayPal, Bank Transfer and Credit Card but no payment by Invoice … maybe somebody might help?
I’m not sure what you’re referring to with “payment by invoice”..??
In German: “Kauf auf Rechnung”
… would be one of the key features for me…!I’m a little confused about how that would even be applicable here, though. A PayPal invoice is something separate from a checkout / payment on a website.
You can create an actual invoice in PayPal, and then somebody would pay that on their end from their email or within their own PayPal account.
Or there are tools you can build using the invoicing APIs (we’re actually about to release a new plugin specific to PayPal Invoicing for WordPress, for example).
To have “pay by invoice” as an option during a website checkout, though..?? I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish with that..??
My view: the customer buys via Webshop, selects “Kauf auf Rechnung” – the Service Provider would do some background checks (i.e. credibility of the customer) and provides an invoice to the vendor. The vendor ships the invoice together with the goods. Advantage for the customer: Payment after goods received
Advantage for vendor: none, but high risk – thats, why you need a service provider who takes that risk and gives the money to the vendor straight away .. such as KLARNA for example… PayPal Plus was supposed to provide the same service as far as I understood.I am not aware of such a service with PayPal Plus, but if you can point me to some documentation on the matter we can certainly look more into it.
That really sounds like something that would have to come from a 3rd party.
I only found the advertisement so far:
https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/invoice
I asked PayPal, let’s see the answer…
I had to translate the page, but from what I can tell it seems to be giving you a overview of everything you would have with PayPal in general, including the additional features you’d get with Plus.
The invoicing feature it’s talking about here is in reference to the invoicing interface that PayPal provides within your PayPal account. You can create an invoice in there, it would be sent to the user, and they could pay the invoice accordingly. That would not happen through your site, though. They would just checkout using PayPal hosted pages.
Again, PayPal does provide an API to integrate invoicing tools, and as I mentioned previously, we are about to release our new plugin: WP PayPal Invoice.
This plugin will be specific to the Invoicing platform PayPal provides, but would have nothing to do with WooCommerce directly.
Well, that said, we actually are adding a feature into that plugin where if you do have WooCommerce installed then you can use the inventory system to easily create PayPal Invoices, and then it would also add matching orders into the WC system in that case.
That’s just us tying those tools together, though. The customer still wouldn’t be choosing “invoice payment” while purchasing directly off your site.
So there’s a chance I’m missing something, but I really think that’s all this is explaining.
Hi, sorry for the late reply.
I understand what you are writing (I think 😉 But still I think that must be something different. I wrote to PayPal and they told me that the invoice option is still in Beta Phase and you have specially to apply for it. You have to meet certain prerequisites and the invoicing is only valid between 1,50 EUR – 1.500 EUR for customers in Germany. They call it themselves “Factoring Service”

We have found some info about this, but the language barrier is proving difficult for us.
We are working to get all features and functionality available in Plus included in our new plugin we’re building, so we’ll do our best to make sure this functionality makes it as well.
