Hi @pillow18
The issue you’re facing seems tied to the PHPMailer function in your WordPress installation. When you place an order, do you or your customer receive any email notifications? I would suggest trying out the WP Mail SMTP by WPForms plugin. Please configure SMTP and see if the error persists.
If the issue persists, it would be helpful if you could share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs. You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and share the link here.
Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Yes, when users make a purchase, they receive a payment confirmation email despite the error message appearing. However, due to the red error message, users attempt to make another purchase without checking if the charge has actually gone through.
The email settings in WooCommerce > Settings > Email are configured correctly and working as expected.
Here is the link to the WooCommerce status: https://paste.mozilla.org/BCbLi7C0
Thank you,
regards.
Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this @pillow18 .
Just to clarify, what changes took place in the way the site is set up, when this started happening?
From what I gather, the site is set up as required, but heavily relies on Elementor. Did you already have a chance to reach out to their support channel about this, or otherwise?
Could you please provide us with a screenshot of the error, so that we can see what you are describing?
If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, https://snipboard.io is a good option – for uploading it there, and sharing the link here afterward.
There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Hi, the error message is in Italian, it appears on top of the Checkout page and it translates into:
“An error occurred while processing the order. Please check for any charges on the payment method and review the ‘order history’ before placing the order again.”.
This is the error: https://snipboard.io/8qjFXN.jpg
But sometimes the user does not read the message, and tries to buy again, resulting in having 2 orders that are equal.
I use Elementor a lot, but not for the checkout page because WooCommerce does not allow me to do that. (I use Blocksy theme).
I don’t know when exatcly the error message started to appear (3 weeks maybe), but it looks like i’m not the only one. I searched online:
“An error occurred while processing the order. Please check for any charges on the payment method and review the ‘order history’ before placing the order again.”
and it looks like nobody was able to solve it yet.

Hey, @pillow18!
Can you please enable debug mode and try to run a test order again?
Then please check for Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via pastebin and send the link here.
Can you also please check server errors?
Looking forward to your reply.
Have a wonderful day!
Hi @pillow18,
I’m finding errors with your Webba Booking plugin:
CRITICAL Uncaught TypeError: in_array(): Argument #2 ($haystack) must be of type array, string given in /web/htdocs/www.paolacontadina.it/home/wp-content/plugins/webba-booking/includes/third-parties/class_wbk_woocommerce.php:228
To confirm, are the orders with errors booking orders? Have you tried placing orders with regular WooCommerce plugins?
Have you reached out to the Webba Booking plugin support team already?
Cheers!

Hi, I confirm that the orders are made with WooCommerce plugin, with WooCommerce products.
Those bookings made with “Webba Booking” plugin has nothing to do with WooCommerce products, but I will contact them anyway.
Thank you very much anyways, i’ll keep you updated if they are able to solve my problem but I don’t think they are related. If you have any other suggestions I’m all ears.
Hi, i was able to solve my problem by:
– looking into WooCommerce logs
– contacting the plugin that gave me the error (In my case Webba Booking had an option for WooCommerce that somehow gave me this error).
