no its my website – I am the website admin

do you have ftp access to the logs or can you contact the server admin to see what your error is?

did this happen after doing the 4.1.1 update?

have you tried manually uploading all of the folders for 4.1.1 EXCEPT wp-content and the file wp-config.php?

I don’t know how to do this – I have access to the FTP server but don’t know what to do from there.

Is this a server issue or wordpress issue cos as soon as I tried to update the site crashed

    Site URL Please?

well, it’s a combination of the two. for example, my hosting account does not break when i update wordpress, but yours has. so is it wp or host? tough to say…

to manually update wp to 4.1.1

    0. take a backup of your existing system

    1. download the latest wordpress

    2. unzip it locally on your computer

    3. connect to your server using an ftp client, selecting option to see hidden files if available

    4. delete from your server everything in wordpress’s install folder except wp-config.php and wp-content/

    5. upload from the newly unzipped wordpress files all files and folders except wp-content/ (there will not be a wp-config.php in the newly unzip wordpress)
