I am also receiving this error. Is there a fix?
Hello,
I have the same problem too.
Perhaps an update will come to fix the problem.
@jerdahl – Is the error border color orange or red?
The orange error border indicates reCAPTCHA v3 is not working correctly on your site.
You may see this error if you’ve:
- previously used reCAPTCHA v2 with CF7
- updated to CF7 5.1.1 or newer and
- not changed your previous reCAPTCHA v2 keys to reCAPTCHA v3 keys at Contact > Integration.
OK..
How do I fix it? I have updated the keys (v3), but still the same error.
Hello, I don’t know the color because I change all the CSS configurations.
What happens is, when I try to send the message this error appear “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”.
The e-mail configurate is the same in the wordpress, I really changed the SMTP configurations and do all the orientations, but it really don’t works.
How I can resolve this?
I’m speding too much days to try a solution, but never works.
Please help me, thank you!
It does seem like a LOT of people are experiencing problems at the moment.. Any fix from the creator/team?
@francynesoares – this is @jerdahl’s post. It’s not appropriate to respond to your specific configuration issues here.
If you are willing to create a new question, which details your issues, somebody will likely be able to help you there.

As CF7 has 5+ million active installs, you will usually see examples in this forum of other people having the same (or similar) problem as you most days. While it’s easy to conclude this means CF7 has a bug, it’s almost always not correct.
Any problems you are having are likely due to unique issues on your particular WordPress website.
@buzztone
Have tried to read the article and troubleshoot, but still same problem.. Also tried to fill in the “Troubleshooter”, but got an error there too, telling me not all fields were completed correctly…
