I am getting this error message on scans on one site:

Notice: Undefined index: wpURL in /..../plugins/wordfence/lib/wfScanEngine.php on line 1645

Despite the error message, the activity log shows that the scans are completing.

In reviewing my error logs, this seems to happen sporadically – the first instance was on July 15 — and it happened about 20 times since then… but often with gaps of several days in between instances.

I have wordfence running on multiple sites on the same VPS/platform, but am only seeing this on one site, so it may be related to a theme or plugin.

I don’t know if this is significant or not, but am reporting it as it does seem to be happening on a regular basis.

  • Hi @abigailm,

We have an internal ticket open (for reference: #FB5868) regarding this issue.
Our development team is currently looking into it in order to identify the cause and implement a solution.

In order to help us investigate would you mind sending us a diagnostics report?

    • Go to the Wordfence Tools page
    • Click the Diagnostics tab
    • Scroll down to the Send Report by Email section
    • Send the report to yann[at]wordfence[dot]com

    Thank you.

    Done.

    Hi @abigailm,

Thank you for sending the report.

It’ll provide our development team with additional information in order to further investigate.

These notice messages shouldn’t affect the scans or your website performance in any way.

Also, in case you’re seeing these warnings on the front-end of your website you’ll need to edit the “wp-config.php” file and adjust the WordPress debugging parameters.
