error message on mobile devices

When I view my website on a mobile device, I get this message “click here to configure this menu”. This message appears where my website tabs are usually listed ~ home, about us, gallery, services, testimonials. Because those are my navigational tabs, I can not see anything but my home page. The odd thing is if I flip my ipad so that the website is viewed as if it were in landscape vs. portrait, the menu tabs are displayed and my website allows me to navigate through my pages. This is only on an ipad and I think because the screen is larger. I have not been able to remove this message on an iphone whether I hold it up and down or on it’s side. The theme used for my website is awake 3.1. I inherited this website and I’ve taught myself how to make changes but I’m totally stumped on this one. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
