Error message after adding Theme

    Hi,
    I tried installing a new theme and got the following error messages;

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/blinkrep/public_html/wp-content/themes/gridstack/functions.php on line 23

    I couldn’t log into control panel so delete Theme (Gridstack) via FTP however still get error.

    Realised issue may have been that my version of WordPress was out dated, tried updating all WP files except wp-content and wp-config.php files via FTP.

    Also changed Plugins to Plugin.hold.

    But I’m still getting the same error message!!!!!

    Please help!!!!
