At the top of my WP dashboard I have this message highlighted in yellow: “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.”

Every time that I click on the link it tells me that I have nothing to update. But the message will not go away, it’s been 3-4 days.

It’s possible that the automated update failed at some point. I recommend doing a manual upgrade, even if it says you’re up to date.

I will try that, thank you.

Is this possibly why I cannot leave comments on other WP blogs when normally I have no issues with that?

If by “leave comments”, you mean actually complete the comment form on another site, it’s got nothing to do with it. Perhaps your comments have just been held for moderation?

That’s the thing, these are blogs which I comment on several times a week and I’m automatically approved for commenting.

One blog did give me a pop up message saying that it thought I was a spam bot. I do not leave spam messages, my blog is about personal development so my blog itself is not spammy. I don’t understand what’s going on.

The error message went away after I deactived a plugin. So that problem is solved!
