Error Installing License

    We restored our site from May 2026 backup.

    Wordfence prompted us to install a licence.

    I stepped through the process, but when adding the licence code, there is an error:`

    Error Installing License
    An error occurred while installing your license key.
    Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact Wordfence Support

    Help appreciated.

    Hi @srd75,

    Thank you for reaching out! The quickest thing to try first is to deactivate Wordfence from your Plugins page, then reactivate it, and attempt the license install again. If there were any issues during the restore, that should straighten them out.

    If that doesn’t help, I’d like to see a copy of the site diagnostics. Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
