    Hello,

I use the storefront theme and I added the Orbisius Plugin in order to edit the CSS. But I think i wrote something front in my Child theme and can not access to my website as well as wordpress either.

It says :Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home3/icloud/public_html/www.shop-peinture.ch/wp-content/themes/storefront/functions.php on line 17

I use the latest version of WordPress. I tried to rename the file in functions.php via Filezilla but it seems that it is not this file which is corrupted. I can not find the functions.php of my child theme…I can not find the child them on Filezilla.

Thanks for your kind help 🙂

    Florent

  • If you can restore from that, might be easier – something seems weird because the wp-content folder should have themes and plugins folder directly inside it.

i can’t restore it directly it’s a nmhnmhp file and now i have to look how to do it haha

Yeah no idea the wp-content folder has only my themes and no plugins folder…

Folks, the syntax error is in the theme’s functions.php file and not in Orbisius Child Theme Creator.

In the 2x editors there is an option to do a syntax check to prevent that from happening again.

Hey I verified the original functions.php file and it is totally ok.

The problem is within the plugin. I was on the page of the plugin and wanted to correct the problem but everytime i was trying to reload the page it was giving me an error message.

I still can not find the plugin folder….I might have a serious problem with filezilla or i have no idea what.

Yes, ask your hosting company for help with this.

I asked hostgator and they told me to change the permission of certain of my folders :
    http://support.hostgator.com/articles/cpanel/how-to-change-permissions-chmod-of-a-file

    “Permission chmod of a file”

Okay, great. So did you get that plugin removed and/or the child theme?

So after 2 days with my website down…the easiest thing to do is to ask your server host to help you haha

So did they get it fixed? Hopefully?

your website loads, internal pages open and i can load up login page too.

So if anybody has the same problem one day :

Basically it was just a mistake of mine…I was using the wrong server (my old server for another website) and that’s why I couldn’t access to the good function.php file 🙂
