Have you tried reaching out to your hosting company? It sounds like the process may not be running.
im using goddady host, after the wp 4.6 update i started to see the following error:
“Error establishing a database connection”
i check all other posts, everybody is facing this problem and its annoying our customers

it appear on the front-end and back-end(wp-admin)
i tried to go to my cpanel to see if there is a problem in the database
but both of the databases is fine!”
i get the same error message on my website, and i have read 8 posts about this problem.
thats why i wanted the MOD to know that it is a fact and not bluffing, and you inform me its not the same problem 🙂

I’m having the exact same issue. Tried to upload a wrong file into Revolution slider and suddenly my website wont work.
