Error establishing a database connection

    Hi guys I am new to wordpress. Today I have tried to install a blog in subdirectory at my server. I have got following error message:-

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
    Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    Are you sure that the database server is running?

    Anyone please help me how to solve this issue. I have given (‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’) in wp-config.php. And I know the username and password is correct.

    Nobody can’t. A common database host is localhost, but it’s not always the case. For example, IPOWER has a different ways of setting it. We don’t even know who your host is. Perhaps, you may want to contact your hosting company.

    I don’t think this is a problem with localhost. I currently have two other wordpress installations working fine on my dedicated server, along with several Vbulletin installations and many other apps, all of which work fine. I try to install a new 2.6 package and I get the database connection error. After searching, I see that a lot of people are having this same problem.
