Hi, I have similar problem. I have read that it could be caused by having added this website as malware website (or as cracked) on Wordfence servers.
I hope Wordfence specialist would answer for this issue.
Kind Regards,

@mosalimzad What’s the URL for the site trying to register?

Hi,
i have the same problem. In Wordfence Central, it shows that it is connected, but when I want to activate the key on the website, it gives an error (Error Installing License. An error occurred while installing your license key.)
The site: https://kilkennyactivitycentre.ie Thx.
I have this issue too.
Tried to install a free license on my domain, but it say
“An error occurred while installing your license key. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact Wordfence Support“
Tried 3-.4 times with new generated keys, but I’d no luck.
What can I do?
It also say that it can’t close the yellow bar at an incomplete installation:
“An unexpected error occurred while attempting to dismiss the notice. Please try again.”
Whats going on?
*** SOLVED *** for me. I have used Cloudflare. After disabling it and using my own DNS, everything is fine now.

@olma
Thanks for posting the solution, you saved me a lot of time.
Another tip for those who have the same issue, you can disable it as @olma suggested or go to Cloudflare dashboard for the relevant website > DNS > Records, and for the A records – disable proxy by unchecking the checkbox of “Proxied” so it changes to “DNS only” and don’t forget to press on save.
then try to activate the Wordfence free license, and then you can re-activate the proxy option in Cloudflare.
