Hey @jcollier – thank you for your message but how is this related to Enable Media Replace?
Thanks,
Alex
This was the notification I received at the top of the Admin > Plugins screen.
Enable Media Replace is now compatible with ShortPixel! ShortPixel is an image optimization plugin and if you have it activated, upon replacing an image in Enable Media Replace, the image will be also automatically optimized.

[Hide notification forever]
Each time I click on “Hide notification forever,” I consistently get an error from WordFence suggesting an unexpected Ajax request. I haven’t gotten this with any other notices.
Has anyone else reported that error when hiding your notification? Should WordFence be notified?
@jcollier – thank you for the explanation. I don’t remember anyone else reporting something like this so it could be related to your specific installation.
Could you try to deactivate WordFence for 2 mins, hide the notification and then activate it back again to see if this solves the problem?
I would appreciate your follow-up on this, thank you,
Alex
I deactivated WordFence, dismissed the notification, and reactivated WordFence. I no longer get the WF error.
However, I do have a persistent “Notifications” menu in the top Admin bar that says:
Dismiss Enable Media Replace is now compatible with ShortPixel! ShortPixel is an image optimization plugin and if you have it activated, upon replacing an image in Enable Media Replace, the image will be also automatically optimized.
>> More info . Restore notice
How do I remove that notification? (Is there a setting for that?)

Jay,
could you please share a screenshot so I can better understand where exactly you see that notification?
Thank you,
Alex
Issue solved. The notification menu was created by a new default setting in “Webcraftic disable admin notices.” Changed and now resolved.
Thank you for letting us all know about how this was solved 🙂
My embarrassment at not diagnosing it sooner is tempered by the possibility that others may avoid making the same mistake by reading this thread!
