Error adding new posts, media, events and pages

    Now when I try to add any of these, I get an error at the top of the page as follows:

    Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/mwmascoe/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/post.php on line 569

    Also, instead of a “publish” button, I get a “Submit for review” button.

    When I submit for review, the page or post seems to not be created.

    When I upload new media files, they seem to upload via the uploader but do not populate in the media library.

    HELP! my site is totally nonfunctional after working perfectly for more than 1 year!

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
