    Hi, @passimal!

Very sorry to hear about the 404 error you’re seeing ๐Ÿ™ First thing to check is that you have ‘post name’ permalinks under Settings > Permalinks. I’ve seen on some hosts that 404’s can be triggered by permalink issues. Beyond that possible issue, let’s check to see if there is a plugin conflict happening. Temporarily deactivate all plugins, then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Does the error still appear? If so, temporarily switch to a WordPress theme (this deactivation is only intended to quickly check to see if the error goes away or is still present). If by deactivating the other plugins, the error does go away, reactivate each of the other plugins one at a time to locate the culprit. Keep me posted on your results ๐Ÿ™‚

I found why your plugin crash ๐Ÿ˜‰
some files use somme bad characters ( รฉ รจ รง ร  etc …)
    how to repare this ?
1- download all files from website directory with filezilla
2- change name without special characters and without space for all the files
3- delete all files in website directory (by filezilla for example)
4- delete one by one all files in nextgen gallery (several minutes , several hours … )
5- When gallery is empty then save and now no crash now ๐Ÿ˜‰
6- Upload clean files (from step 2)
7- use button “search in directory new files”
8- save confiuration ( normally no crash , 404 page)
    9- be happy

In fact , it s not possible in your plugin to put filter to remove this bad characters ?
    See you soon …

@passimal – Very sorry to hear of this issue with the special characters. In our testing before releasing updates to the plugin, we have always tested special characters in gallery titles and descriptions, as well as image titles and captions. Could you give me a few examples of text you’re adding to your images? It could be that we missed something and will need to add a fix for this in our next update.

    Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m having the same issue. On one gallery out of 13.

404’s on any edit image save.

    URL before save
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&mode=edit&gid=1&_wpnonce=3c16857a60

URL after save on 404 page.
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&mode=edit&gid=1&paged=1

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi @crazybassplayer – is the issue you’re experiencing specifically related to the special characters in your image filenames, image titles and descriptions? If so, could you provide some examples for us to test?

    Thanks!

    Hi Becky,

No special characters. Nothing abnormal. Just when editing the description or title, on save it 404’s.

Ok, thank you for confirming that. Could you provide an example of the text you’re adding to the titles and description? This will help us troubleshoot and hopefully reproduce so we can work on a fix for that.

    Thank you, @crazybassplayer! ๐Ÿ™‚

Great, thank you @passimal! We’ll make sure to test the special characters in our next beta testing round before our next release.

    Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚
