  • In what way are you trying to access your dashboard? Is the 404 error you get from your theme, or a generic server 404?

Without any further knowledge on the problem, you can try:

    • Backing up, then deleting your .htaccess file (permalinks will cease to work)
    • Re-uploading all the files for WordPress (except wp-config.php and the wp-content folder)

    Hi Taylorde,
I am trying to access my dashboard by the entering my username and password. I am able to get to the blog page. On the top of the page I see the name of my blog, on the right side Pages, Archives, and Categories are listed but right in the middle of the page the error 404 message is staring at me!!! I am very new at this but will do what you suggested and see what happens….thank you much.

OMG i figured it out!!!! The wp-admin was in the wrong folder/file. Thank you again.
