Enabled ‘Session Lock’ now can’t login!

I just enabled Session Lock on my site, it promptly logged me off to establish a new connection and will not let me back in.

– I think 2fa is messing with it as all my admin accounts have 2fa enabled.

How can I disable ‘session lock’ I still have access to the DB and files.

So I got back in, but Users->”Lock To Location” dose not work with the built in WP 2fa (two factor authentication).

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having.

Shield’s 2FA doesn’t affect “Lock To Location” option in any way.

When you turn on this option and your IP address changes, you’ll be forcefully logged out.

If you want to use this option, make sure that your IP isn’t changing.

If you want to turn it off, please follow these steps:

1) Use a forceoff method to get back in:

2) Go to the User Management module and disable “Lock To Location” option
3) Remove a “forceoff” file

I had already set up 2fa in WP through Wordfense, not through shield. might be some compatibility issues. I had though the 2fa was in WP core.

Thanks for the update.

We don’t recommend you try to run 2+ different security plugins as there’s no way to predict how they will interact. We suggest choosing 1 or the other.
