I am trying to enable compression on my server under Apache. From what I read I need “mod_deflate.c” installed. I don’t see that in my php info file. I do have under HTTP headers: gzip, deflate ON.
In the Per modules on the server to install I don’t see “deflate”. Can someone help me understand this?

Generally, if you don’t see a module in php info, it means that module is not installed. However, this is probably a better question for your hosting provider’s support forum, as it’s not really a WordPress question.

Yes I am assuming its not installed. After reading some more, it should be listed as an available module to install. I know my server is really outdated. Since its a dedicated server I will have to search on help forum at the hosting company.

Yeah, definitely check with the hosting forum for that. Anything I recommend would likely just nuke the whole thing. 😉
