Enable auto update missing

This link shows what the problem is, automatic updates option does not appear anywhere next to the plugins or in the bulk action column.
What can be done to fix this?

Are you selected Automatic Updates in the Screen Options section?
Check this on the WordPress backend – https://prnt.sc/yTt4cnfPod3pWhich version of WordPress are you running?
The latest one, of course. 6.6.1
Do you have any plugins, especially security plugins, that could be managing updates for you?
And, are you with a managed WordPress hosting provider?
Updates aren’t managed for me because I have to update everything manually (themes and plugins). I do use a security plugin.
And yes, I am.
What plugins do you have installed, and who is your hosting provider?
For the setting to not even be available as an admin, something has to be overriding it.
Hostinger & Wordfence security.
I’m not sure what could be doing it because I have around the same plugins installed on this website that I do on another, and the other site is fine.
Do you have any other plugins installed except Wordfence?
Security wise, no, but otherwise, yes. Are you going to need a specific list?
I can’t find specifics for Wordfence on this, you might need to ask them, but two things to check first:
- Make sure auto-updates are enabled in Hostinger: https://support.hostinger.com/en/articles/8409305-how-to-enable-automatic-wordpress-updates
- Make sure that it’s not manually disabled: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/wordpress/wp-config/#disable-wordpress-auto-updates
Besides that, I’m not really sure why the option is completely missing:
If you are running WordPress 5.5 or more and those controls are still unavailable, it probably means the feature was partially or completely deactivated by your hosting company or by a plugin.
https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/plugins-themes-auto-updates/#auto-updates-are-not-availableYes, it turns out the issue was the hosting provider disabling the option. I had no idea that was it. Thanks for leading to it.
Edit: it turns out, no. Because after checking, updates for plugins and themes are disabled for both sites (I have two sites, one where it works and one where it doesn’t), but it does work on one despite that. So, mystery again.
I am not sure how to work your second option, making sure it’s not manually disabled.

I had the same issue I went to the hpanel and to the left selected wordpress then security. The section Automatic updates configuration has a sub section called Smart WordPress auto updates which I turned off and the column to enable updates appeared to the right of the plugins. You can compare your settings to your other sites as to which are turned on or off.
