I’m using the Sermon Manager plugin and it seems to be working correctly if I use the archive page link (http://bmchurch.ca/messages/). But once on that page if I click any of the links to filter the sermons (series, service type, preacher) I’m forwarded to an empty archive page (http://bmchurch.ca/series/mark/)

I am able to fix this by unchecking the “Theme Compatibility” checkbox. But this results in all of the sermon displaying in a full-screen layout, which looks wrong. Is there any way around this?

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

For some unknown reason, Sermon Manager series have “series-2” slug, so “Mark” would be at http://bmchurch.ca/series-2/mark/, and as you can see, it works correctly.

I wonder, do you have some other page with slug “series”?

The Series-2 slug was created when I created a second series page to get around the problem I was having above. This is the temporary page I created

    http://bmchurch.ca/series-2/

    Hi,

It seems that the issue is that the active theme doesn’t have proper files for rendering archive layout.

That would also explain why it works (albeit with display issues) when “Theme Compatibility” is unchecked.

So, the solution would be to properly create the code needed for the archive page to display or you could do the following:

    1. Deactivate and remove existing Sermon Manager (no data will be lost)
    2. Download and install the development version

After installing the development version, check the checbox named “Theme Compatibility” in Sermon Manager settings and see if the layout is acceptable now.

    Thank you for your patience.
