emoticons or emojis

WP used to have a box to check so that 🙂 appeared as 🙂 instead of a bright yellow smiley face. That checkbox is gone. Or so well hidden, I can’t find it 🙂

How do I fix this — hate the bright yellow faces, just want the text emoticons.
