embedding youtube size change fail

    It seems to be WP and not the theme as it happens on various themes I tried. It only happens with YOUTUBE and no other video embed codes whether IFRAME or OBJECT / embed.
    No matter using the source tap in the video icon, no matter what sizing I put into the code in text mode, or size it in visual with the mouse, update shows it comes up right and then snaps back to 425wide in my 280wide column, no matter what.
    In the text code it shows my new width and height but ignores it.
    With my new project I cannot live with it as I have in my old projects as this has also been going on for a few years.
    Anyone know what’s going on and any workaround?
