Hello,
You would still need to use the #_LOCATIONMAP for the embeded map placehodler. Then under Events > Settings > Google Maps and Location Services > Select the Embedded Map.

Hi Timru
Indeed we selected this option but the map was still blank (grey background).
Our Google account have active billing and three API services are enabled – Maps Javascript API, Places API for Web and Maps Embed API.
Any suggestion?

If you are looking for a simple solution that just works, please check out my plugin for OpenStreetMaps in Events Manager:

Hi Patrick.
Loving your opening sentence – 0% Google, 100% open source! Any chance would your plugin utilise the current location information? We have approx 1500 listings so I would like the idea to avoid to input addresses manually.
Still I am putting my faith in this forum and plugin support to come up with solution hopefully but thank you for the suggestion that I will keep your plugin in mind in case if I have no solution.
Thanks! LOL.
Have your read the second paragraph of the description? 😉
“Existing locations should work right out-of-the-box.”
This forum is great! I absolutely LOVE Events Manager. But Google is just doing some stuff lately that seems to step on a lot (!) of user’s toes.
Feel free to give it a try. You do not need a new OpenCage API key to display existing locations. 🙂
