Embed video

I am trying to embed a video that I have uploaded to my site and cannot find an easy way to do it, do I have to get involved with coding? Previously I have embedded videos fron You Tube etc. but when I try to do the same with my uploaded video I only get a hyperlink displayed, can anyone help please?
