Embed tweets not working

    Hello,

    I have installed WordPress 3.4.2 and cutting and pasting the Twitter status link will not embed the tweet.
    Do I have to enable something on my theme?
    What I am doing wrong?

    FYI: Furthermore, simply pasting a YouTube video link will not embed the video either, I need to use [embed][/embed] shortcode.
